The Project School Wellness Fund is our commitment to giving back.
If you’ve spent any time on the blog or in our online shop, you’re hopefully aware of how we aspire to empower students to thrive by developing engaging resources for teachers across the curriculum (check out our online store) and publishing original and curated content on our blog.
Did you also know that we’re committed to further empowering students to thrive by donating a portion of our earnings to local students, teachers, and schools? To do this, we’ve created the Project School Wellness Fund.
The Project School Wellness Fund has three goals:
1) Provide teachers with empowering resources
Not only are we committed to giving away teaching resources we’ve created, we’re committed to helping equip teachers and classrooms with new technology and teaching materials. We’ve donated iPads, Apple TVs, and help fund a campaign to get Chromebooks into local classrooms.
2) Give students new opportunities
Our second goal is to give students opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t be able to experience. Our vision is for this to be done in many different ways. Sponsoring field trips, hosting guest presentations, and funding student trips are a few ways we’re working to create new and exciting opportunities for students.
3) Support local schools
We feel very lucky to be connected to a number of schools in our local community (Washington’s Whatcom County and British Columbia’s Fraser Valley) and we’ve made a commitment to use the Project School Wellness Fund to empower our communities to thrive! Don’t worry, we’re still working hard to support all of our Project School Wellness community through give-a-ways and freebies throughout the year!
It’s really quite simple...10% of each and every sale* from our TpT and website stores and any other money earned (speaking engagement, sponsored post, affiliate links, etc…) goes into the Project School Wellness Fund. In turn, all of this money is donated to local schools and educators.
And because we believe in transparency let’s take a closer look at how this works.
*As mentioned above, 10% of the earnings off of each sale are put into the Project School Wellness Fund. This simply means that we donate 10% of the amount of money we make off of each sale. Here’s how that breaks down:
- TpT takes 20% commission, so after they take their cut, 10% goes into the Project School Wellness Fund to be donated to local schools.
- Stripe (how we collect payment on our website) takes a 3% commission. Again, after Strip has taken their cut, 10% is donated.
Since Project School Wellness started selling resources in 2015, over $4,500 has been donated to local students, teachers, and schools. The Project School Wellness Fund has donated iPads, Apple TVs, funding for Chromebooks, sent students on school trips, aided with tuition, and more. Below is a breakdown of how much has been donated in 2015, 2016, and 2017. As of February 2018, we are on track to break our previous donation records!!!!
