What is the Stinky Feet Review Game?

The Stinky Feet Review Game is a fast-paced, fun, and engaging classroom game, where you ask students questions and they answer. If they get it right, they get to pick up a card with random point values. It can be used to review concepts, as a get-to-know-you activity, or to introduce new knowledge to students. How to Set Up the Stinky Feet Review Game

Set Up

  • Get a stack of notecards or Post-Its and write out random point values - I do a mix of positive and negative numbers 😜 (you can do it digitally too, but I am a huge fan of tangible cards). I had a total of 50 cards. Then, lay them out on the ground or post them on the wall/whiteboard.

  • Write out questions to ask students (scroll down to the bottom of the blog to instantly download questions I’ve used in my health classrooms!)

Game Directions

  • Divide students into groups (I usually let them choose their groups because they tend to be more engaged) and give each group a whiteboard and dry-erase marker, or a paper and pencil.

  • Read a question from your question bank and ask everyone (each group) to answer it.

  • Then, ask students to share their answers, or you can tell them the correct answer. Everyone who answered correctly gets to pick a card. This is where it gets fun because the cards have random values.

  • Repeat until all of the cards are gone or there are no more questions to ask.

How to Use the Stinky Feet Review Game and Play It In Health Class

Here are three fun ways you can use the Stinky Feet Review Game in your health class to keep students engaged, connected, and learning:

  1. Get-to-Know You Activity - This game works as a lowkey way to get to know students and for them to get to know each other. With questions focused on uncovering commonlities and interestes between students, like - Who likes pinapple on their pizza? Who’s recently read a graphic novel? Or, who knows the words to Golden from KPop Demon Hunters? Then everyone who answers the same gets to grab a card.

  2. Introduce New Knowledge - This game is such a fun way to introduce students to functional knowledge. It totally beats sharing a PowerPoint or lecturing to students about concepts. It challenges students to answer prior knowledge and gives them an opportunity to be introduced to knew content in a fun way.

  3. Review Concepts - This game is a great way to check students’ learning and understanding. By playing after they’ve been introduced to health knowledge and skills, you can check in on how well they understand without the pressure and monotony of an old-school test.
