Elementary Health Project: Healthy Habit Rainbow (Earth Day Activity)

A Rainbow Craft to celebrate Earth Day with preschool and elementary students!

Looking for a fun and meaningful Earth Day activity and craft? I’ve got you covered! This is a health project I did in my daughter’s preschool class (it would also be great for kindergarten and lower elementary) to highlight healthy habits they can practice to help take care of the Earth. The students loved it, and at the end of the day they had a health artifact to help them build healthy habits.

Prep and Materials

  • Paper plates (one for every two kids)

  • String

  • Bag of cotton balls

  • Hole punch

  • Scissors

  • Glue (glue stick or school glue)

After gathering the craft supplies, prep the paper plates (cut them in half and tie a string to the top) and print off the title and rainbow strips. You can either print them with healthy habits written in or blank for students to write in.

Once you have everything prepped, it’s student craft time!

Step 3: Glue down the Rainbow Strips

I had a certain vision for how they would be spaced and what side of the plate they would put them on, but I had just let students do whatever they wanted to do 🤪
